PRE-SESSION INSTRUCTIONS

Read before using the Schedule Now button below.

For In-Office Treatment Sessions

For an Initial Evaluation & Treatment session, expect to be in the office for approximately 2 hours to allow time needed before and after a full 75 minutes of treatment/instruction time.

Wear (or bring) underwear and elastic-waist loosely-fitting shorts (and a bra for women).
I will be observing and touching your body for assessment while you are standing, initially, and my hands need to contact your skin for treatment in more than just the area(s) where you have pain.

Minimize any strong scents or odors on your body and clothing, including tobacco, perfume, or cologne, for the comfort and welfare of myself, others in the office, and my next patient-clients, many of whom may have allergies or sensitivities.

Do not apply lotions or oils that will make your skin slippery. This treatment uses no lotion or oil, and avoids sliding on the skin.

Do not arrive for your appointment under the influence of any recreational drug or alcohol or having very recently used any tobacco product.

It would also be ideal, if possible,  to avoid arriving dehydrated or having just eaten a large meal.

You are welcome to wear a mask, if you wish, and to request that I do.
I may choose to wear one at times to protect myself and my next patient-clients from any airborne communicable diseases that are prevalent.

Do not bring pets in the car with you.  They are not permitted in the building and should never be left alone in your car.

It is generally not advisable to have a family member or friend be present in the treatment room during your session, although it is your choice if you wish to have them present.
It can be difficult for both you and me to focus on your healing with another person present.
Also, I reserve the right to ask them to leave the room if it interferes significantly with the therapeutic process.  Or you may choose to end the session early and pay the full fee.

For In-Your-Home Treatment Sessions

These sessions are only scheduled if you are physically unable to come to my office, and are located on the ground floor or the building has an elevator for transporting a portable massage table on a wheeled cart.
Or, if confined to a wheelchair or bed, modifications of treatment are
possible without requiring you to lie on a treatment table, so these sessions can be on any floor of your home or building.
These sessions can only be scheduled after we have discussed your
circumstances and home situation, as described more below.

For an Initial Evaluation & Treatment session, expect that I will be in your home for a total of at least 2 hours, to include the time needed before and after a full 75 minutes of treatment/instruction time.

Please have a clear space available for me to set up my treatment table in a quiet room where we will be undisturbed by pets, other household members, ringing telephones, or visitors knocking at the door that cannot be ignored.
Locate this near some type of table, desk, or counter, where I can place paperwork and take notes during the session.

If possible, have a portable chair, 2 bed pillows, and a sheet or blanket to cover your body if you become cold during the session.

Wear underwear and elastic-waist loosely-fitting shorts (and a bra, for women).

It is not usually advisable to have a family member or friend be present in the treatment room during your session, although it is your choice if you wish to have them present.  Exceptions would include needing them to attend to your physical needs, if you are significantly disabled, or to learn some of the techniques to continue to treat you later.  Otherwise, it can be difficult for both you and me to focus on your healing with another person present.  Also, I reserve the right to ask them to leave the room if it interferes significantly with the therapeutic process.  Or you may choose to end the session early and pay the full fee.
